Taste + How and when to drink

“Fresh”, “clean” and “bright” were frequently used when describing this wine.  Sip after sip almost gave some of us a lip puckering experience, as it was like biting into a crisp citrus.  No wonder as lemon and lime are distinct flavors of this wine.   The winemaker also describes this wine as having melon and herb flavors.

It makes sense that this crisp wine goes well with tangy cheeses, smoked meats, and seafood.

The Bottom Line

We rated the Pique-Nique Sauvignon Blanc (2020) from Costco’s Hello Summer Wine Sampler (2021) 3.0 Stars (out of 5)!

This white wine would pair well with seafood dishes as it has fresh, bright, lemon-y flavors; it is like a fresh squeeze of lemon that perfectly balances out the flavors of a briny flaky fish filet.  Some of our taste testers thought this wine was a little too lip-puckeringly sour.  For that reason, this wine was not as preferred as other Sauvignon Blanc wines.
