Our Review of Trader Joe’s Conte Priuli Prosecco Rosé
Type of Wine
This is a sparkling Prosecco Rosé wine that is made from both Glera (Prosecco) and Pinot Noir grapes. This mixture of white and red grapes respectively contribute to its namesake of being a Rosé.
This wine has an Italian quality standard of D.O.C. (“Denominazione di Origine Controllata”), which translated into English means “designation of controlled origin.” D.O.C. means that this wine has followed a specific set of Italian requirements when it comes to the grapes used, harvest yields, alcohol levels, barrel usage and aging rules.
Additionally, this wine is Millesimato, which means that it has been produced with 85% of grapes of the same vintage (i.e. the year the grapes were picked). This is another sign of quality of this sparkling wine.
Origin
This Prosecco Rosé is from Italy.
Alcohol Content
11% ABV
Appearance
The wine is clear with a clear pink-orange color.
This is contained in a standard 750ml bottle with pink labels that visually emphasize its Rosé attributes. As this is a sparkling wine, the wine bottle has a cork closure to ensure the wine stays bubbly.
Taste / “How and When to Drink”
According to the label, this Prosecco Rosé has a “fine expression of light cherry, strawberry, citrus aromas. On the palate it offers great depth with notes of red berry, peaches, spice and fine bubbles. Suitable for any occasion, pair with puff pastry, risotto, shellfish and quiche.”
When we tried this wine, it had a sweetness and acidity that was classic to an extra dry Prosecco, resulting in a balanced flavor. We could taste the citrus flavors and even hints of berries (as mentioned on the label). This made for a nice clean and refreshing experience. Some of the taste testers (like me) are suckers for bubbly sparkling wines, and so this made us like this drink even more.
Price
One bottle of Prosecco Rosé is $6.99.
